The First Summit Sports Forum of China, Proudly Held at WIPE

On 28th September, 2006, the First Summit Sports Forum, titled ¡°Beijing 2008, Opportunities and Challenges.¡¯¡¯ was sponsored by the Sports Science Association. This was successfully hosted by our university.

 

The goal was to provide a high-level stage, in academic areas of sports management and science & technology. This offered an equal, open and free atmosphere to all the specialist participants to communicate, sharing ideas regarding the covered 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

   

At the opening ceremony, Duan Shijie, the Deputy Director of the National General Administration of Sports said,

¡°In the year 2008, the Olympic Games, which will be held in Beijing, will be a huge opportunity to absorb knowledge about the World Games. Furthermore, to understand comprehensively Olympic Games culture, and an excellent opportunity for promoting sound and continuous development in China.¡¯¡¯

He pointed out that with the increasing development of major sports events, the number of management specialists would grow, and the quality would rise to greater heights. These specialist managers will play a significant role in the sports undertaking of our country.
