Research Achievements

　　Since 1997, WIPE has undertaken and accomplished about 100 research 　projects and tasks at the state and ministerial levels, such as those funded through the State Natural Science Fund and the State Social Science Fund. It has been the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in technology, including a national award, two Hubei Province, a Wuhan City award and 20 China State Sports General Administration awards. WIPE also garnered 20 national patents and two national awards for inventions.

　　In December 2001, WIPE was designated as “research base for sports 　social science” by the China State Sports General Administration. The 　purpose of WIPE research is to support sports training .The scientific 　research tasks undertaken by the institute have improved capabilities and 　skills of the national rowing team, canoe team, yacht team ,track and field team, fencing team and fin-swimming team. This research has contributed to the achievement of gold medals in the Olympic Games and in other international championships.
